You can get a taste of the next version of Apple's desktop operating system OS X Mountain Lion. The cupertino based company has released the beta version of the Message app from OS X Mountain Lion. Note that installing Messages Beta would replace your existing iChat application. The only two differences you'd notice are the new interface, and iMessage support.
